The preparation course for the ASQ Certified Quality Manager CQM, which is now the Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) exam consists of 20 hours of class time .  The next exam we are offering classes for is the October 2, 2010 exam.  Classes for this exam will be forming soon.   We allow you to take our class up to two times for the one cost, so you can start anytime.  We offer a wide range of class times to accommodate a variety of schedules. 

The classes offer a mixture of lecture, breakout sessions and quizzes. The training is conducted in an online classroom environment with a high level of interactivity between the student and instructor.  You will have access to the instructor via email and phone to get your questions answered outside of normal class.

The focus of the CMQ/OE Preparation Couse:

-ASQ's Body of Knowledge for the CMQ/OE Exam.  The Body of Knowledge is the roadmap to what is going to be covered on the exam.

-Focus on the cognitive level at which questions will be asked. Some of the material you only need to be
 familiar with and some you will need to know very well. The cognitive level is defined by ASQ in the 
 Body of knowledge and is based on Bloom's Taxonomy. There are six cognitive levels.  Here is an example 
of the six levels and what type of questions are associated with each level. The levels are in
 order from least complex to most complex. The following examples deal with the CMQ/OE Body of
 Knowledge.

Remember - Ability to recognize and recall
Section I.C of the BOK, If you are asked about the types of teams you should be able to remember there are process improvement teams, ad hoc teams, self directed,etc. 

Understand -Ability to explain
Section I.A.2  If you are asked about organizational culture, you should be able to explain what the organizational culture is and what determines it.

Apply - Know how to use and apply the ideas
Section III.A,1  If you are asked about the principles of management, you should be able to show how you would use the various principles and what is the desired outcome.

Analyze - Break down the information into the constituent parts and understand their relationship
Section III.C.1  If you are asked about ROI or NPV, you can analyze the results and determine which project is better and why.

Evaluate- Make judgements about the value of proposed ideas or solutions
Section IV.A,5  If you are asked about cost of quality, you can differentiate between the 4 categories and how changes in one area may effect the other areas. If you increase prevention costs how will that impact internal failure costs?

Create - Put parts or elements together in such a way to reveal a structure not evident before 
Section VI. D.  If you are asked about supplier improvement, you should be able to discuss what type of program and activities you would implement for achieving this.

-Develop a steady, consistent study pace that builds momentum leading up to the exam.
-Prepare and condition you to taking timed quizzes and exams to ensure the skills and
strategies are learned and refined by the actual exam date.

Part of our curriculum involves extensive testing and quizzing to provide feedback to you for what areas to work on and to allow the instructor to monitor your progress. The material covered in our course is based on the body of knowledge for the CMQ/OE exam established by ASQ (American Society for Quality).
