The focus of the CQT Preparation Course
:

·         ASQ's Body of Knowledge for the CQT Exam.  The Body of Knowledge is the roadmap to what is going covered on the exam.

·         Focus on the cognitive level at which questions will be asked. Some of the material you only need to be familiar with and some you will need to know very well. The cognitive level is defined by ASQ in the Body of knowledge and is based on Bloom's Taxonomy. There are six cognitive levels.  Here is an example of the six cognitive levels and what type of questions are associated with each level. The levels are in order from least complex to most complex. The following examples deal with the CMQ/OE Body of Knowledge.

Knowledge - Ability to recognize and recall
Section IV.C.3 of the BOK, If you are asked about various testing techniques you will remember the various methods to test electrically, mechanically,  chemically, etc.  You don’t have to be able to explain each one but you should know a pH test is a chemical test.

Comprehension -Ability to explain
Section IV.B.7 in the BOK, If you are asked about inspection error, you will be able to explain the various types such as parallax, fatigue and flinching.

Application - Know how to use and apply the ideas
Section II.C.8 in the BOK,   If you are asked about a pre control chart you will know what its purpose is and how to develop one.

Analysis - Break down the information into the constituent parts and understand their relationship
Section II.C.3 in the BOK,   If you are asked about variables control charts you can review one and draw conclusions, you know when they are applicable and what the purpose of them is.

Synthesis -  Put parts or elements together in such a way to reveal a structure not evident before

Evaluation- Make judgements about the value of proposed ideas or solutions
Section III.A in the BOK,   If you are asked about M&TE, you can determine which piece of equipment is correct for the characteristic being measured, evaluate the results of the measurement and draw conclusions

·         Develop a steady, consistent study pace that builds momentum leading up to the exam.

·         Prepare and condition you to taking timed quizzes and exams to ensure the skills and
strategies are learned and refined by the actual exam date.
