The preparation course for the ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt - CSSBB  exam consists of about 25 hours of class time.  The next exam we are offering a class for is the October 2, 2010 exam.  Classes will begin the week of July 26, 2010.  We allow you to take the course up to two times for the one price.  This enables you to use the course for your initial studies and then take the course prior to the exam for final preparation to ensure to pass.  We offer a wide range of class times to accommodate a variety of schedules. Let us know your constraints and we can fit a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt CSSBB class time to meet the needs of your schedule.  The classes offer a mixture of lecture, breakout sessions and quizzes. The training is conducted in an online classroom environment that provides a high level of interactivity between the student and the instructor.  You will have access to the instructor via email and phone to get your questions answered outside of normal class times.

Part of our curriculum involves extensive testing and quizzing to provide feedback to you for what areas to work on and allow the instructor to monitor your progress. The material covered in our course is based on the body of knowledge for the CSSBB exam established by ASQ (American Society for Quality).

The focus of the CSSBB Preparation Course:

·         ASQ's Body of Knowledge for the CSSBB Exam.  The Body of Knowledge is the roadmap to what is going covered on the exam.

·         Focus on the cognitive level at which questions will be asked. Some of the material you only need to be familiar with and some you will need to know very well. The cognitive level is defined by ASQ in the Body of knowledge and is based on Bloom's Taxonomy. There are six cognitive levels.  Here is an example of the six cognitive levels and what type of questions are associated with each level. The levels are in order from least complex to most complex. The following examples deal with the CMQ/OE Body of Knowledge.

Remember - Ability to recognize and recall
Section I.A.1 of the BOK, If you are asked about origin and development of continuous improvement, you should be able to remember they quality gurus such as Crosby, Deming, Shewhart, Feigenbaum, etc.. 

Understand -Ability to explain
Section III.B.2  If you are asked about the stages of team development you understand the characteristics of the forming, storming, norming and performing phases along with how to facilitate and move a team through the various phases.

Apply - Know how to use and apply the ideas
Section III.D.1   If you are asked about population or a sample you should be able to explain the difference and know a parameter is a population value and how it is determined and a statistic is a sample value and how it is determined..

Analyze - Break down the information into the constituent parts and understand their relationship
Section VI.A.5  If you are asked about attribute data analysis you should be able to interpret the results of a logit probability, logistic regression or probit probability and determine what the results are telling you..

Evaluate- Make judgements about the value of proposed ideas or solutions
Section VI.B.7  If you are asked about comparing the proportions of several processes you should know it is a Chi Square application, how to set up the Chi Square table, determine the expected values, determine the Chi Square value, determine if you reject the null hypothesis or fail to reject it.
 

Create - Put parts or elements together in such a way to reveal a structure not evident before 
Section IV.C.  If you are asked about project tracking you should be able to discuss how you would utilize the various tools such as Gantt charts, PERT charts, CPM, WBS and toll gate reviews to monitor and track a six sigma project.

·         Develop a steady, consistent study pace that builds momentum leading up to the exam.

·         Prepare and condition you to taking timed quizzes and exams to ensure the skills and
strategies are learned and refined by the actual exam date.
